STONE SOUR's upcoming third studio album entitled ‘Audio Secrecy’ will be released on September 7th, 2010 (7. 9. 2010) via Roadrunner Records; official release date for Germany is September 3rd, 2010 and for UK September 6th, 2010. The album was recorded and produced by Nick Raskulinecz at Blackbird Studios.
STONE SOUR formed in 1992 in Iowa, USA and since 2006 has been comprised of Corey Taylor on vocals/keyboard/guitar, Jim Root on lead guitar/backing vocals, Josh Rand on rhythm guitar, Shawn Economaki on bass and Roy Mayorga on drums/percussions. The group released self-titled debut album in 2002 which reached position number 46 on American Billboard 200 Albums Chart and went on to receive RIAA Gold certification (for over 500,000 units sold). STONE SOUR received two Grammy Award nominations (2003 and 2004). Group's second release came in 2006; ‘Come What(ever) May’ debuted at number 4 on Billboard 200, was certified Gold in USA and Canada and was nominated for Grammy Award (“best metal performance” category). Blabbermouth's Don Kaye described the album as “a well-crafted, well-played and well-written heavy metal album”. “Anyone looking for thrash, death or any other sort of extreme metal will be disappointed, while all you SLIPKNOT-haters [singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root both play in SLIPKNOT] just don't even fuckin' bother to give this a listen 'cause you've already got your bias in place,” he continued.
Singer Corey Taylor commented on the new album: “ ‘Audio Secrecy’ is the summation of everything we want, everything we crave and everything we fight for. The dimensions go further than anything we’ve ever tried before. It's metal, rock, slow, soft, hard, fast, bitter, beautiful and most importantly, it's real. You can’t get an album like this out of a band that doesn’t exist. We’re throwing caution out the damn window.”

Brown, who is well-known for his album designs (KORN/GODSMACK/MARILYN MANSON) and video works (SLIPKNOT/MURDERDOLLS/BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE to name just a few of this year releases).
Follow-up: ‘Audio Secrecy’ debuted at number 1 on UK Rock Chart and made it to number 6 on American Billboard 200. In the U.S. it sold 46,000 copies in its first week of sales. AllMusic's critic Gregory Heaney awarded the album with 4/5 : “It’s always great to see a band that’s able to tweak its sound without watering it down, and that’s exactly what STONE SOUR have accomplished here, showing that it’s possible for hard rock bands to make their sound bigger without necessarily making it blunter.”
