Aborted: Global Flatline – new album

Aborted_GlobalFlatline

That fine metal portal No Clean Singing (click to listen) is currently streaming the new, just released ABORTED album ‘Global Flatline’. Released through Century Media on January 23rd, 2012 in Europe and on January 24th, 2012 in North America, ABORTED's latest blood-soaked platter was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark and features several guest vocalists, including Trevor Strnad (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER), Julien Truchan (BENIGHTED), Jason Netherton (MISERY INDEX), and Keiijo Niinima (ROTTEN SOUND). The album's artwork has been handled by (“the gruesome”) Justin Osbourn from Slasher Design (“It contains some of the most horrid, putrid and disgusting art the band has displayed to date; it perfectly visualizes the album's title and lyrical concept while retaining a certain retro/B-movie horror touch.”) and the ‘The Origin Of Disease’ video – available below – was directed by Phil Berridge:

Founded by vocalist Sven de Caluwé in Waregem, Belgium in 1995, ABORTED, to date, released seven full-lengths, two EPs, three splits and a live DVD. The band has seen numerous musicians going through its ranks, with Sven de Caluwé being its only constant. After a couple of demos, ‘The Necrotorous Chronicles’ (1997) and ‘The Splat Pack’ (1998), ABORTED issued their first full-length, 1999's ‘The Purity Of Perversion’ through Uxicon, followed by three releases on Listenable Records, 2001's ‘Engineering The Dead’, 2003's ‘Goremageddon: The Saw And The Carnage Done’ and 2005's ‘The Archaic Abattoir’, squeezing ‘The Haematobic EP’ in between (2004):

‘Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture’, issued by Century Media Records in 2007, featured guest appearances by CARCASS' Jeff Walker as well as HATESPHERE's Jacob Bredahl and Henrik Jacobsen. The group's sixth effort, 2008's ‘Strychnine.213’, was described by AllMusic's A. Henderson as “a worthwhile demonstration of ABORTED's ability to combine Scandinavian and non-Scandinavian influences with enjoyably brutal and darkly humorous results” (read the full review here). In 2009, de Caluwé assembled Eran Segal on guitar, Cole Martinez (SYSTEM DIVIDE) on bass, Ken Sorceron (ABIGAIL WILLIAMS) on guitar, and Dirk Verbeuren (SOILWORK) on drums and recorded ‘Coronary Reconstruction’ EP (2010):
