OneManArmyAndTheUndeadQuartet

‘The Dark Epic’, fourth album by Sweden's ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET is coming out tomorrow, February 25th, 2011 (25. 2. 2011) via Massacre Records. Watch ONE MAN ARMY's new video, ‘Skeletons Of Rose Hall’, below. The video was directed, filmed and edited by PUTERAEON's Rune Foss.

(Not to be confused with San Francisco punk rock band ONE MAN ARMY) ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET was formed in 2004 by Swedish vocalist Johan Lindstrand (ex-THE CROWN). With guitarist/bassist Valle Adzic (IMPIOUS) and lead guitarist Mikael Lagerblad, he recorded a six-song demo that led to interest from Nuclear Blast Records. Threesome was soon joined by rhythm guitarist Pekka Kiviaho and drummer Marek Dobrowolski. Debut Album ‘21 Century Killing Machine’ was released in 2006: “An excellent first salvo from a once overlooked vocalist, backed by a promising new band fit to challenge the best contenders within the Scandinavian extreme metal throng,” remarked AllMusic's E. Rivadavia. New bassist Robert Axelsson replaced departing Adzic and ‘Error In Evolution’ followed in 2007. Third album, ‘Grim Tales’, was released through Massacre Records in 2008.

ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET features: Johan Lindstrand on vocals, Pekka Kiviaho on rhythm guitar, Jonas Blom on lead guitar, Robert Axelsson on bass and Marek Dobrowolski on drums.

The Famine: Architects Of Guilt – new album / Ad Mortem – new video

TheFamine_ArchitectsOfGuilt

Second album by Texas metal outfit, THE FAMINE, entitled ‘Architects Of Guilt’ is being released today, February 15th, 2011 (15. 2. 2011) via Solid State Records. The album was produced by D. Braxton Henry and mixed by Jason Suecof. The video, available below, was directed by Michael Dalton.

THE FAMINE, featuring ex-members of now defunct band EMBODYMENT - vocalist Chris McCaddon, drummer Mark Garza, and guitarist Andy Godwin, formed in 2007 and released their first record for Solid State Records in 2008. ‘The Raven And The Reaping’ was recorded with Andreas Magnusson. “If SUFFOCATION was covering PANTERA songs, that’s how THE FAMINE sounds,” explained vocalist McCaddon. In January 2010 the band announced the departure of lead singer and co-founder Chris McCaddon and bassist Nick Nowell has since taken over vocal duties. The group recruited a new bassist, Jon Richardson. THE FAMINE promises the new album to be “faster, more technical, even abrasive and discomforting, trading shear aggression and energy for the lifeless sweeps and mechanized beats that have come to dominate and dilute the genre.” According to a press release, the lyrics “forego empty threats and skip the subtleties, calling out the deceit and duplicity of our leaders, and the decay next door masked by a flaking white picket fence and a familiar chemical scent.” Furthermore: “The band traces the fractures in stone pillars and cracks along the marble walls, sets their tools down after 11 tracks and walks away as if saying, ‘Don't come to us when the temple falls.’”

MYGRAIN formed in of 2004 as Tommy (vocals), Resistor (guitar) and Matthew (guitar), band mates from the disbanded NEW SCIENCE BAND, decided to start over with a new band. MYGRAIN features Tommy on vocals, Resistor on guitar, Mr Downhill on guitar, Eve on keyboards, Jonas on bass and DJ Locomotive on drums.

Madball: All Or Nothing – new video

New York City hardcore legends MADBALL have released brand new music video for the track ‘All Or Nothing", off band's 2010 album entitled ‘Empire’, produced by Eric Rutan and released through Good Fight Music (USA) and Nuclear Blast Records (Europe). The video was directed and edited by Michael Distelkamp, along with co-director Freddy Cricien for Black N’ Blue Productions in association with Convoy Films.

MADBALL originated back in 1989 as a side project of the legendary hardcore outfit AGNOSTIC FRONT. The early version of the band featured most of AGNOSTIC FRONT members that played mostly AGNOSTIC FRONT's unused songs. Only in 1991, when Freddy Cricien on vocals, guitarists Matt Henderson and Vinnie Stigma, drummer Will Shepler  and bassist Hoya Roc joined forces, MADBALL truly hit their stride. They recorded an EP called ‘Droppin' Many Suckas’, which eventually led to the band signing with Roadrunner Records in 1994. They released full-length ‘Set It Off’ (rumored to be HATEBREED's Jamey Jasta's favorite hardcore album) that same year and ‘Demonstrating My Style’ followed in 1996. MADBALL, now consisting of Cricien, Henderson, Hoya and new drummer John Lafatta, recorded what many consider their finest album, ‘Look My Way’, in 1998. Epitaph Records-released ‘Hold It Down’ followed in 2000. The band briefly broke up from early 2001 until late 2002 when Cricien and Hoya enlisted ex-SKARHEAD guitarist Mitts and former HATEBREED drummer Rigg Ross and as such released via Ferret Records 2005's ‘Legacy’ and 2007's ‘Infiltrate The System’. In 2009 Rigg Ross left the band to be replaced by ex-THROWDOWN's Ben Dussault. Igor Wouters is MADBALL's current touring drummer.
