ENGEL, Gothenburg finest and sweetest a.k.a. “a piece of heaven for any friend of modern metal”, released a brand new performance video which, according to Blabbermouth, highlights the band's propulsive rhythms, chilling twin guitar work and impassioned vocals. Directed by Kristofer "Kiggs" Karlson who worked with ENGEL on their previous video ‘Question Your Place’, the tune comes off the band's third and unquestionably epic album ‘Blood Of Saints’. Out since May 2012, you can still witness the band explaining the album away in epic details here and here (YouTube) and then order the album here from Season Of Mist. ‘Blood Of Saints’ was recorded with producer Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios in Aabyhøj, Denmark.
Founded by guitarist Niklas Engelin (IN FLAMES) in 2002, ENGEL self-released three demos during 2005 and 2006, before releasing their melodic death metal/industrial metal debut ‘Absolute Design’ in 2007/2008 on SPV/Steamhammer. Described by Allmusic's Alex Henderson as “heavier, more intense and metalcore-friendly version of STAIND” (more here), the recording was received by positive reviews and rewarded with tours and shows with TRIVIUM, ARCH ENEMY and AMON AMARTH among others. Vocalist Magnus “Mangan” Klavborn, guitarists Niclas Engelin and Marcus Sunesson (THE CROWN), bassist Steve Drennan (LOCUS) and drummer Daniel “Mojjo” Moilanen recorded ENGEL's second full-length ‘Threnody’ already in 2008, but its release was delayed due to label issues. New drummer Jimmy Olausson has since replaced Moilanen. ‘Threnody’ was issued on Season Of Mist in 2010 and can be listened to in its entirety here (BandCamp) and below.
