The Chariot: Evan Perks – new video

Atlanta, Georgia-based Christian (mathcore/metalcore) alternative metal act, THE CHARIOT, have released a live performance clip for ‘Evan Perks’, opening track from their Matt Goldman-produced 2010release entitled ‘Long Live’ (Good Fight Music). The footage was shot over the band's three performances in Australia by Her Name Is Murder Productions.

“There isn’t anything specifically religious in his [Josh Scogin's] rants, except, perhaps, by implication, in terms of the exhortation to change the world and better one's behavior. When he repeats, “Disappointed, I know you are,” many times at the end of ‘Evan Perks’, he may be speaking to his God, but that’s not clear. Surely, his followers will not be disappointed that he is continuing to follow his muse, even to the edge of incoherence,” writes AllMusic's William Ruhlmann in his review of the album.

“While THE CHARIOT have produced a number of critically and commercially acclaimed recordings,” reads the press release, “it is their live show that shall forever live on as the beating pulse of the band's heart. The sheer force of their thunderous live renditions while maniacally pouring their entire physical being into each note captivates and jolts an audience into awe and utter appreciation. It is this experience, undeniable and unavoidable by anyone attending their show, that fully supports the weight of the words ‘Long Live’.”

THE CHARIOT features: Josh Scogin - lead vocals, Stephen Harrison – guitar & backup vocals, Jon Terrey – guitar & backup vocals, Jon Kindler – bass & backup vocals and David Kennedy – drums.
